Special Olympics Fitness Evaluation: Attendance Tracking

Description: Regularly monitoring attendance is essential for understanding engagement and adherence, which ultimately contributes to improved program effectiveness and outcomes. By keeping a record of attendance, you can identify trends in program growth or decline, assess program impact, and make data-informed decisions.

Target audience: Athletes and Unified partners

Length: Use by Program staff, coaches, and fitness professionals to track on-going attendance of athletes and Unified Partners.

Measures:

  • Total number of participants with ID in your fitness program 
  • Total number of participants without ID in your fitness program
  • Number of weeks participants attend programming

Implementation Instructions:

  • Before your fitness program, use the attendance tracking sheet (below) to add your fitness program roster. 
  • At each session of your fitness program, input attendance information into this spreadsheet. Write in the dates for each session where it says "mm/dd/yyyy". Select YES if the participant attended and NO if the participant did not attend.  
    • Note: Create more session columns if your fitness program is longer than 10 sessions.  

Results & Reports: Research and Evaluation team can connect health and fitness data with attendance to determine differences in outcomes based on highly engaged participants compared to low engaged participants. Complete the following Fitness Evaluation Request Form if you would like attendance-related reports.
