Program Quality Standards: Frequently Asked Questions The Program Quality Standards (PQS) are a tool to help Programs develop and increase quality of programmatic areas and overall operations. They help Programs identify what to focus on in order to keep moving forward.

Unified Schools

Stage 1

Program builds relationships with educational institutions (e.g. schools, universities) in at least one geographic area to recruit and engage youth with and without ID in Special Olympics activities.

Stage 2

Program partners with educational institutions to conduct inclusive sport and education activities (e.g. Unified Sports, youth leadership summit). Program works to transition Unified Schools to Unified Champion Schools.

Stage 3

Program expands Unified Champion Schools to all major geographical areas within the country or state.
