Working Together: November 17th to 19th 2012

Under the theme of Working Together, a group of 100 Special Olympics leaders from Europe Eurasia comprising of volunteers, athletes and staff members from 50 National Programmes gathered in Istanbul from November 17th to 19th  2012.  By ‘Working Together’ the group developed new plans and partnership goals with the aim of strengthening the Special Olympics movement in Europe Eurasia to provide more opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities through sport.

The Conference was a success concluding with the launch of a region-wide intensive Government Awareness Campaign focused on raising awareness and securing deeper support amongst policy-makers for the work of Special Olympics in transforming lives for people with intellectual disabilities through the joy of sport.
