Unified Soccer Tournament

The Unified Soccer Tournament will be held at Bonner Springs High School, 100 McDanield St, Bonner Springs, KS. The Tournament will begin at 9:00am. The Kansas Unified Sports League will host its culminatng soccer tournament of the season. Area high schools, middle schools and adult will compete against teams of similar ability in tournament-style competition. Teams are composed of Special Olympics athletes and volunteer partners who practice and compete together to enhance their skills and form friendships.

Evening of Chance (featuring the Kentucky Derby)

For the Evening of Chance featuring the Kentucky Derby (horse racing and casino), the Special Olympics New Jersey Sports Complex is transformed into a high stakes casino. There will be great food, fun and excitement playing the poker, craps, black jack, roulette tables and watching the Kentucky Derby live. This fundraising event is hosted by the Board of Trustees to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey.

21st Special Olympics Iran National Games

21st Special Olympics Iran games will be held from 12 to 13 May 2017 in Tehran. This national games is only for Special Olympics female athletes. 200 Athletes, 65 family members, 20 coaches and 60 volunteers will participate in the event. Two sport events, football and swimming will be held during the games. Family forum and Healthy Athletes program will be arranged also. In Healthy Athletes, all participated athletes will be checked for healthy hearing.

Montana Torch Run Final Leg & Circle of Honor

The Torch Run relay culminates in the host-city for the State Summer Games. During the Final Leg, law enforcement will carry the Flame of Hope the last mile to the Opening Ceremonies of the Games. The Circle of Honor is an integral part of the Opening Ceremonies. This is a great representation of law enforcement’s dedication and support of Special Olympics Montana athletes. Special Olympics Montana athlete-of-the-year, accompanied by law enforcement, carry the Flame of Hope into the arena, igniting the cauldron signifying the beginning of the games.

Fremont PD Battle of the Badges

Join us for the Battle of the Badges when city law enforcement and fire department personnel take to the basketball courts to earn bragging rights as the best team in Fremont. Spectators are welcome and are asked to make a $5 donation to enjoy the night's festivities.  In addition to basketball, there will be a chili cook-off. Spectators will be able purchase a ticket to sample and judge all the chili recipes and vote for their favorite.

Competition divisions are based on similar ability levels to ensure meaningful involvement. By providing opportunities for students both with all types of disabilities and without disabilities to participate in sports meaningfully and by engaging other students in the school community, Interscholastic Unified Sports (IUS) helps promote inclusion, acceptance, and respect. The Special Olympics Interscholastic Unified Sports program is supported by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) and the Bureau of Special Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education.
