The Muskegon Polar Plunge takes place at Fricano's on February 4, 2017. Registration starts at 12:00 p.m. The Plunge will start at 2:00 p.m. with the awards and After Splash Bash at 4:00 p.m. There is free admission to the After Splash Bash for plungers. There will be a $10 fee for guests which includes pizza. If you would like to avoid the registration lines on Plunge day, there will be a Pre Registration on Friday, February 3rd at Fricano's to come in and get registered and turn in your donations. Show your Wolverine pride! Take advantage of this rare opportunity to take the plunge in The Big House, the largest stadium in the United States that has stood strong since 1927! The Washtenaw County Polar Plunge will take place on Friday, February 24th inside Michigan Stadium - The Big House Under the Lights. Registration will begin at 6:30pm. outside of “The Tunnel”. The parade of costumes will take place down the tunnel and onto the field! The plunge will begin at 8:00pm. The Awards and Post Plunge Party will begin immediately following the last plunger. This is a great opportunity for Special Olympics Michigan and the University of Michigan! Plungers will suit up like a Wolverine when they change in the locker rooms. Put on your brave—just don't forget your swimsuit—for the Northern VA Polar Plunge® Fest, where hundreds will dash into the icy Potomac. In addition to your icy dip, you can strut your stuff on the beach in your best Plunge costume, listen to the live band, or win some COOL door prizes! The Festival will take place at Tim's Rivershore Restaurant & Crabhouse from 10 am to 4 pm. Registration starts at 11:00 at the East Bay General Store, 19961 East Chippewa Lake Drive, Chippewa Lake. The parade of costumes and plunge will start at 12:30 p.m. at the Chippewa Lake Public Access on East Chippewa Drive between 20 mile road and 21 mile road. Grand Rapids Polar Plunge 2017

The Grand Rapids Polar Plunge will take place on February 25, 2017 outside the Van Andel Arena in a swimming pool! Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. inside The BOB and the plunge will start at noon outside of the Van Andel Arena. Stick around for awards at the after-splash bash at the BOB. Join us for the Griffins Game as we continue the celebration. For every ticket sold, $4 will go back to Special Olympics.

Phenomenal athletes from around the state will hit the slopes February 25-26, 2017 at Mt. Bachelor for the annual Special Olympics Oregon Winter Games presented by Les Schwab Tire Centers. Athletes will meet at the starting line for alpine (slalom, giant slalom, downhill) and snowboarding events, along with cross country skiing and snow snowshoeing with awards being handed out by local officers as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Games Ceremonies will take place Saturday evening at Mountain View High School.

National Honor Society, PALS, and LT Buddies are going to make posters and hang them up around our schools. We are going to get something on the school announcements. During lunches we are going to set up a table with computers where people cant pledge and give them a sticker.

Pre-Spread the Word to End the Word Rally

This rally was planned by 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who were enrolled in a Project Unify class. The rally will include athlete guest speakers, R-word knock out with beach balls, Unified Spartan Cup competition, Area Special Olympics coordinator guest speaker, Unified Champion School video, school mascot and the first ever Unified Spartan award given to an outstanding student who sees see's beyond differences and see's others for their abilities. During the week of February 27th-March 3rd, the entire middle school will be using the Get Into It Curriculum each morning. On March 2nd we will hold our annual Spread the Word to End the Word Pledge station.

Liberty Middle School Partner's Club will be making posters on Feb. 10th to promote the R-Word campaign. They will also film and prep video, warm up activity. Monday: Principal's message and video to raise awareness shown to all student. Sticky Note Activity to be displayed in the main hall. Wednesday: student-made PowerPoint shown to all students, pledge table in the cafeteria; Friday: Pledge table in the cafeteria
